Series / Helping hands

Hand gestures are fundamental to communication. When people talk, they move their hands. Often, these movements help send out a clearer and stronger message. Research says that non-verbal forms of communication form a second language, constantly adding what's missing from the words. When words fail, gestures speak. When they're inadequate, gestures take the front seat. They add emphasis to the spoken work and help package thoughts, silently expressing all feelings positive and negative as well as the grey areas.

Through this collection, we are highlighting hand gestures as a universal language in both time and meaning. The pieces are independent of speech, and thereby carry a certain sense of spontaneity and offer freedom of expression.
