20th July 2016 Claymen Gallery/Shop24 Haus Khas VillageNew Delhi - 110016 CLAYMEN GALLERY/SHOPAs the Claymen objects and sculptures started to take shape and form, they called for a space to say what they wanted to say. Aman states "I didn't want and couldn't achieve this with a conventional retail space. At Claymen gallery/shop, I will be displaying my thoughts, feelings, observations and ideas as self-initiated project installations. The idea is to enjoy the process, voice my thoughts and create an enjoyable, meaningful experience for myself and for others". The theme-based display continues for a few months during which more objects are added to the existing collection. The theme changes over a period of time. There is a permanent display of clay objects on our first floor studio. TABLE SET FOR ONE"The conventional view was that mankind was set on a positive trajectory." A successful life today, involves much technology, the need to network with people constantly, to work very hard for as much money or fame as possible, and abide by societal norms. These principles (imperatives) represent a quasi-normative prescription for success today. In contrast to this normative view of society, these silent tables serve as the focal point of remembrance, introspective and a celebration of an analogue lifestyle. On display are hand-moulded tableware, objects and sculptures; the idea is to just sit, relax, be at ease and rediscover one's sense of touch by feeling the visible and palpable irregularities of these hand-made objects - the dents and traces of the hands that made them.
